As the the only true freshman in Cal’s ’92 class to play, Duane got off to a fast start in college. As a junior, his prolific season earned him team mvp, all Pac 10, and All American honors. Forgoing his senior year His NFL career started in 1996 with the Vikings as a 1st round pick.

During four seasons in Minnesota where he played and started  in several playoff games and one N.F.C. championship in ’98.

In 2000, free agency lead Clemons to Kansas City, filling the void left by Derrick Thomas sudden passing. For three seasons D.C. started for the Chiefs at Defensive End.

In 2003, Duane became a Bengal under new head coach Marvin Lewis and was a part of the rebuilding effort that lead to the Bengals first playoff appearance in over two decades.

After 10 seasons Duane retired in 2006 to Johnson county Kansas. He currently coaches at Mid America Nazarene University for the past two season and has won back to back H.A.A.C.C. championships as the defensive line Coach. He also holds the position of warehouse supervisor for Kane warehousing in New Century, KS.
