The San Antonio, Texas native played his collegiate football at the University of Texas where he was named the offensive MVP as a senior. Keith was picked in the 7th round of the 1991 draft by the Washington Redskins, but spent the majority of his rookie season on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice squad. Keith was activated the last 5 games of the season. In 1992, Keith joined the Kansas City Chiefs as a free agent.

Keith played on special teams and as a backup tight end his first two seasons with the Chiefs. He was the starting tight end his last three seasons. Keith was at his best during the playoffs, where he is ranked 3rd on the Chiefs all time playoff receptions and receiving yards lists.
Keith, and his wife Tina, have two sons, Mason and Christopher. Keith is a Financial Advisor at Commerce Bank in Kansas City where they make their home.
