After a great career at the University of Pittsburgh, Bill joined the Chiefs as the 5th overall pick in the 1984 NFL Draft. In his first year, Bill was named the NFL Rookie of the Year by the Associated Press. Bill made trips to the Pro Bowl during the 1986 and 1987 seasons earning him All-Pro honors. Bill played for the Chiefs until 1993, his final season, were he would finish his career out with the Green Bay Packers.
After retiring from football, Bill joined FOX TV and broadcasted NFL games for 12 years.
A Philanthropist at heart, Bill has been actively involved with Kansas City Charities since his arrival in 1984. He has been involved with the March of Dimes, The Dream Factory, The Simone Awards and the Salvation Army. With a strong tie to the Military, Bill bought tickets for 250 veterans of Desert Storm to attend a home game at Arrowhead. Bill is the current President elect of the Chiefs Ambassadors.
Bill has two daughters, Erica and Frankie, and one son, Bill, as well as a grandson Ryder. He currently resides in Lee Summit, Missouri, with his wife Sarah. Bill currently is in the Commercial Real Estate business where he buys, sells, owns, manages and develops properties all over the metro. When there is free time you can find Bill outdoors as he enjoys hunting, fishing, skiing, riding motorcycles and boating.
